About me

As a Detroit Documenter I provide live coverage (via X/Twitter @PerrySylvester6 and Bluesky @SpookyPerry.bsky.social), audio transcripts and summary notes of various public meetings. I do this to expand access to local government operations and contribute to our common public record. This work is also done to support the project of local journalism--especially those journalists and organizations partnered with Outlier Media who amplify experiences of regular people and challenge narratives of the powers-that-be.

I am one of the (many) descendants of the Carignan-Salieres regiment, a resident of the Clinton River watershed's 'Pioneer City', and a life-long advocate for Greater Detroit. My best days always seem to include some combination of books, the DIA and Detroit-style Coney Island chili (no beans and with grease floating on the top).
