The Cleveland Documenters team will absolutely be wearing our Halloween costumes. Feel free to wear yours, too!

This one-hour training will introduce you to local government in Cleveland and how to monitor it for the public good. You’ll learn the basics of notetaking and open meeting law—and how they can be used to document local public government agencies and hold elected officials accountable.

Upon completion of this community-building workshop and a brief quiz, a digital badge will be added to your Documenters.org profile. We strongly recommend this training, as public meetings are the only assignments we’ll be offering initially.

It’s all happening Thursday, October 29th from 6-7pm EST, via videochat––register to receive access details.

NOTE: We will soon be offering other Documenters trainings such as interviewing and live-tweeting workshops to give you the support and preparation you need. Unless otherwise noted, these trainings are encouraged but not required for the related assignment. You must attend at least one orientation to become eligible for paid Documenters assignments. We currently have an orientation scheduled for Thursday, October 29th from 5-6pm EST. Details here.

We will refer to visual resources and Documenters.org throughout, so we recommend joining from a computer, if possible.
