The City Planning Commission, established in 1915, is a body of seven members; six are appointed by the mayor and one is a member of City Council. The commission is supported by a staff of professional planners and architects. The City Charter gives the commission responsibility for preparing plans to guide “development and improvement” of the city and its neighborhoods, and for reviewing all legislation and other matters that concern the “use or development of land.”

08:03 AM Jan 6, 2023 CST

Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 2/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Roll call was taken there is a quorum, so they will start their first LIVE meeting in almost three years.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 3/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland First up is approval of the meetings from the last meeting, motion carried.

@cledocumenters @signalcleveland First item on the agenda is Zoning Map Amendments - people whose property is affected by zoning issues can comment.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 5/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland There is a request to change parcels of land south of Superior Ave. between East 111th St. and East 112th. The property owners would like to change the property from a residential use to commercial use.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 6/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Jillian Watson Esposito represents CHM and approves the property transition partly because the property is located in a high transition area.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 7/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Brian Grambort is also in favor of the zoning change request.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 8/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Richard Carr with the housing change initiative supports the change because of the chronic need for housing and because veterans are expected to be a group of residents.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 9/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland The commission members approve a motion approving the zoning change of the property.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 10/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Next zoning change is for parcels of land east of East 55th St. between Hawthorne Ave. and Central Ave. The Hawthorne building and International Foods will be affected by the change.

Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 13/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Complete sanitation plan is requested because CMHA says there is a rodent issue in the area.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 14/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Motion approved. We proceed to Lot Consolidation and Splits and first up is Dan McCarthy who request a lot split of property near 3405 Clinton Ave. - after the split, a lot will not be part of the property.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 15/45

@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Motion approved to table the request until there is a plan for the property.

@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Watch a detailed discussion of the affect water will have on the green space for this project at youtube.com/channel/UCB8ql…
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 25/45

Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 36/45

Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 42/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Motion carried for approval of Public Square design changes, with one nay. Mayor Bibb's administration is aware of the project, is working with RTA, and is looking forward to all of the project partners working together to move the project forward.
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 43/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Today's meeting used a hybrid method - F2F and virtual. The commission seeks questions, comments, and thoughts on this method? Let them know via phone, email, tweet, snail mail - planning.clevelandohio.gov/designreview/c…
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 44/45
@cledocumenters @signalcleveland Comments on hybrid meeting: "problems hearing" "I thought it was great," "It was great to be able to look outside". With that meeting adjourned. DEUCES!
Coffee @CoffeeDocuments 45/45
